Hiatus over...

Hello everyone! Extremely long time, no post!
I stopped blogging several months back because I didn't have access to a computer, and I could never post. Well I'm back now with a computer and a new blog!

I'll be using that blog from now on, for a fresh start. Because lets face it, this blog and its title are pretty lame.

Don't hurry, flee.

My alarm woke me up this morning at 7:30, and I reluctantly rushed out of bed. Then I realized today was Saturday, and I had no school. Great. What a fantastic start to another boring, uneventful weekend. I guess I'll just sit home and watch Lifetime movies and NOT learn how to drive! For some reason my mother will not let me drive her car. That needs to change very soon, for I am eligible to get my licence this November!

Well here's an idea! I'll sit home and Tumble all weekend! (lol at that verb) I just made one. and I guess I'll just be posting pretty pictures, catchy songs, and whatever else I fancy. I need some Tumblr's to follow, so if any of you have one, feel free to post the link down in the comments. Mine is http://inthatmomentwewereinfinite.tumblr.com/

I leave you now with this adorable kitty. Have a great weekend everybody! Hope it's better than mine!

Some pretty little things...

I couldn't think of a blog post for today, so I decided I would show you guys some things that have made me smile lately.

Last weekend I went to Target and literally stopped in my tracks when I saw this beauty. The slogan was meant to be used for British propaganda during World War II, but for some reason they never used. In 2000 it was re-discovered in a book shop in England, and has been seen hanging on walls ever since. It was also available in red, green, and yellow. I really wanted the green one, but I didn't have enough money with me at the time, so when I went back yesterday, all they had was this and the yellow one. But this one is just as great.

Lately it has been so hot at night! My mom doesn't use the air conditioner at night, and I don't have a fan, so sleeping on my micro-fleece-extra-warm bed sheets has been nearly impossible. That's why I was thrilled when I found these babies! The pattern is what drew me in, but the material is what made me buy them. They kind of feel like plastic, but really soft plastic. Hmm, that sounds pretty bad. Basically they are super soft without being too warm, nothing like jersey sheets. They keep me cool at night and I've been getting better sleep. I really like that they look like they could belong in my grandmother's guest room.

And last but not least, an apple tree! It's right outside my bedroom window, and this is the first time in years that it has bloomed apples! The last time it did, squirrels stole all of them. But this year there are bunches of them, and I think they might be Granny Smith apples. I'll be kind of hesitant to try them, though, once they're ready. I've never picked anything off a tree and ate it before. What if theres worms in them? I doubt it. I guess they're the same as the ones you buy from the stores, right? At least these apples are organic...

Just like a heartbeat drives you mad...

So I know summer is vastly approaching, but I just can't give up tights just yet! These are my favorite pair I own, and I always get lots of compliments when I where them, well, except for my snotty brother. He always tells me I look terrible when I wear them. Actually, the word he uses is "tragic". Haha! Like he knows anything about fashion, women's in particular. Whatever, I'll let him call me what he wants, but I'm not the one wearing slippers to school...

And look who I saw basking in the sun outside while I was taking picture. My cat, Sophy! It's kind of a funny story behind his name. Yes, his. Basically when we got him last year, the woman who gave him to us told us he was a girl. Sophie was the perfect name for such a classy looking girl cat. Come to find out a few months later when we went to get her fixed, the vet told us she was a he. We couldn't tell because his...junk...were stuck in his stomach, and could lead to cancer if we had waited a little longer. But we couldn't just change his name, you know, that's what he responded to by then. So we took the ie off of Sophie and replaced it with a y instead. You know, to feel more masculine.

I like that his name is Sophy. It gives him character I think.

Let the sun fall down over me.

Once again the weather decides to spontaneously change it's mind. When the weather today called for the upper 60's, I was so excited to be able to enjoy the day wearing a cute cardigan and not worry about sweating. However, the sun decided to crush my dreams and shine as bright as it possibly could. And with that sudden change in temperature, bee's and mosquito's were buzzing around pleased to annoy me. I got bit by a mosquito twice while taking a picture of my outfit!

But I shouldn't complain. High temperatures and annoying insects mean the start of summer! I finish up my state exams this week, and then only two more weeks of school! With that being said, I really need to get a job! I've put in three applications already but no luck. Hopefully with wishful thinking though, that will change.

May Playlist

I think I'll start making one of these every month or so, sharing with you the songs that I can't stop playing on repeat.

1. Congratulations by MGMT - There's something about Andrew VanWyngarden's voice that is just so special and makes me love listening to. If you're wondering the story behind my blog name, I was listening to this song while signing up.

2. Daydream by Beach Fossils - Such a wonderful song! It has the most perfect bass line and the vocal effects are pretty interesting, too.

3. Day Glo by Brazos - This is a great upbeat song. It will make anyone smile. There's this one part towards the end where the music dies down, and you think the song's over, but then it starts up again flawlessly.

4. Young Adult Friction by The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - Listening to this song makes me think of those times when you're just hanging out with your friends, having fun, and not having a care in the world. I would love to compose a video of such moments and play it to this song.

5. The Whipgrass by Justin Vernon - It's not only this song that I love, but Justin Vernon himself. He has the greatest voice and the greatest lyrics, and this is just one example of that.

Nice to meet you.

So my sophomore year in high school is quickly coming to and end and before I know it, I'll be graduating. This is such a scary thing for me to think about. I mean, I have absolutely no idea what I want to pursue beyond school, and I feel most people my age already do. So I thought, why not start a blog and post things that I'm passionate about, and things that inspire me, and maybe through this I can find something worth pursuing. And who knows, maybe on day this blog will be good enough to impress somebody.

To start off, my name's Cara. I love all things fashion and music, which is probably what I'll be blogging about most. I live in a boring suburban community, and plan escaping as soon as I get the chance. I've always wanted to live somewhere exciting and fast paced, like a big city somewhere. I have played the cello for 5 years now and am no where near as good as I should be. I'm really not great at anything. Well, anything that could get me far in life. If collaging were a skill in demand though, I may just be in luck. So anyway, I can't wait to start blogging and be inspired, and hopefully inspire others. And maybe my time my "life actually begins" I won't be afraid to take it by its horns.
